Diet Management In Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD): Ketogenic Diet – Part 1
In this Part 1 of a 3 Part series, we will briefly describe the pathophysiology of Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) including its cellular, metabolic, and systemic impact. Then, we will discuss the nutritional/diet management strategies for ADPKD, with an emphasis on using the Ketogenic Diet. We will set the stage for Part 2, describing a Plant-Focused Ketogenic Diet Program for improved ADPKD outcomes.

Richard Lindquist Consulting, PLLC*
Dr Richard Lindquist is a board-certified Obesity Medicine and Family Medicine physician who graduated from the University of Washington and completed his residency at Bayfront Medical Center in Florida. Dr Lindquist is former Medical Program Director of Swedish Weight Loss Services in Seattle and former Medical Director for Providence St. Joseph Health System’s Health Weight Initiative. He is currently a consultant to hospitals and health care systems, assisting with weight management program planning, development, training, and education.
Dr Lindquist is actively involved in state and national organizations and has earned numerous awards and recognitions for his work, including the Obesity Medicine Association’s “Bariatrician of the Year” for his contributions in advancing the field of bariatric medicine. He is a Board member of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and is the WA State Representative of the Obesity Society and the Obesity Medicine Association for “Access to Care.” Current hot topic projects include Obesity in Renal disease, Ketosis in health and disease, and work on an upcoming book on The Ideal Bariatric Center: Developing and Maintaining the Modern Metabolic and Bariatric Program.
