Liqun Bai, MD, FASN, is a board-certified nephrologist with extensive clinical and academic experience. He currently practices at the Arizona Kidney Disease and Hypertension Centers in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr Bai completed his internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at University of Arizona and later served as Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona. His primary clinical interests include glomerular disease, electrolytes disorders, and critical care nephrology.
Dr. Bai’s research interests focused on renal physiology and molecular biology of renal transporters including Aquaporin 2, sodium hydrogen exchangers, and glutamate transporters. He had served as Principal Investigator on multiple grant-funded projects, including an NIH R01. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and remains actively involved in advancing nephrology education and research.
