Featured SpeakersRima Kang, MD*, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, within the Division of Nephrology at The Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio.
Upon joining faculty at Ohio State, Dr. Kang has become the lead nephrologist in cystic kidney disease care and was instrumental in developing a specialty clinic at Ohio State with an emphasis in ADPKD and CKD. Dr. Kang continues to advocate for improved patient care and is an active member in multiple associations and committees, including the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), the Internal Medicine Quality and Patient Safety Committee, and the Internal Medicine Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Dr. Kang received her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Kang then went on to complete a distinguished fellowship in Nephrology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.Saundra Jain, MD*, PsyD, LPC, is an Adjunct Clinical Affiliate for the School of Nursing at the University of Texas, Austin; and Co-Founder of WILD-5 Wellness, a wellness intervention that combines five elements of wellness into a prescriptive, easy-to-follow program.
She also operates a private psychotherapy practice. Dr. Jain’s research focuses on wellness and the impact of positive psychology on clinical outcomes, exploring the connection of wellness and anti-inflammatory effects, and improvements in disease and wellness markers. Dr. Jain received a MA from the University of Houston-Clear Lake; a PsyD from Southern California University for Professional Studies; and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.Kelly Reed, PhD**, joined Otsuka in 2012 and is currently a Senior Medical Science Liaison on our Nephrology East Team.
Dr. Reed has collaborated with several national professional organizations and healthcare systems providing educational presentations on hyponatremia and Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD). She has been a leader in resource development for the MSL team, co-led the nephrology MSL new hire training program during expansion and served as a mentor to several MSL new hires. Dr. Reed earned her doctorate from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA and completed her clinical internship at the Mailman Center for Child Development in Miami, FL, followed by a two year fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
