SUMMARY:The Importance Of Population Health: A Focus On Chronic Kidney Disease
DESCRIPTION:Population health provides an opportunity for health care systems\, agencies\, and organizations to work together in order to improve the health outcomes of the communities they serve. Some definitions of population health emphasize outcomes\, some focus on measurement\, and others emphasize accountability. Chronic kidney disease in the United States places a high burden upon society and health systems. Given its uneven distribution across populations and that the disease is largely preventable\, chronic kidney disease is an important focus for population health. Drs Mary Reich Cooper\, Tara McKinley\, and Joseph Cirrincione will discuss population health with a focus on chronic kidney disease. \n\n\n\n*Dr Mary Reich Cooper is an unpaid consultant of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization\, Inc. SUMMARY:Transplant Considerations For Patients With Polycystic Kidney Disease
DESCRIPTION:Kidney transplantation can improve the quality of life and reduces the mortality risk for patients who have reached kidney failure.1 However\, there are many considerations that a patient undergoes during the transplant evaluation process\, some of which are unique to patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). Join us as experts\, Dr Meyeon Park and Dr Simin Goral discuss different factors and choices patients with kidney failure must process during their journey to a kidney transplant. As well as hearing from our peer specialist\, Mr Kevin Fowler\, about his experience during his pre-emptive transplant journey. \n\n\n\nVella\, J. (2019).
