SUMMARY:Addressing Healthcare Provider Burnout: A Conversation On Workplace Mental Health & Well-being
DESCRIPTION:Healthcare workers – across settings\, professional backgrounds\, and practice types – face workplace challenges that may increase their risk for stress\, burnout and related mental health issues. This challenge is particularly acute for nephrology nurses\, whose long hours\, workloads\, and demanding workplaces can affect their overall well-being. For many nephrology nurses\, the “normal” workplace challenges have been exacerbated by COVID-19. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a conversation with Dr Gaurava Agarwal\, Associate Professor in the Departments of Medical Education and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine\, and Lillian Pryor\, President of the American Nephrology Nurses Association for a timely discussion on workplace mental health and well-being for healthcare workers. \n\n\n\nDuring this webinar\, Dr Agarwal and Ms Pryor will share insights on healthcare provider burnout\, both before and during the COVID-19 pandemic\, as well as the resources available for nurses and their employers to support mental health and well-being. \n\n\n\n*Dr Agarwal is a paid consultant of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization\, Inc. He has been with Otsuka in his current role for 2 years supporting the Nephrology division.  Prior to joining industry\, he practiced in a private practice Nephrology clinic for 4 years managing patients with chronic kidney disease including their associated co-morbidities\, anemia secondary to CKD\, acute kidney injury\, and end stage renal disease.  In addition to his clinical work\, he served on the Executive Committee for Advanced Practitioners with the National Kidney Foundation for 3 consecutive years as member-at-large\, secretary\, and research chair.  Sean earned his Physician Assistant/Masters Health Science from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.  He is currently licensed in the state of Oklahoma and certified with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. \n\n			\n 	\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\nOnline
